Women's trench coat

The trench coat has been an icon of classic style for over a hundred years. Although it was born for military needs (the English word trench means trench) for the British army, it quickly found its way into the "salon" and gained the recognition of Hollywood stars. It was popularized by Humphrey Bogart, who wore a trench coat in the cult film "Casablanca".

A trench coat is a type of classic coat, most often found in shades of beige with a double-breasted fastening and a wide belt with a buckle. It is decorated with five pairs of buttons on the front. It used to reach the ankles, today it is usually found in midi length, i.e. below the knee. It was supposed to protect against wind, rain and moisture, so it was sewn from leather, wool gabardine or poplin.

So much for the original, because fashion evolves and has its own rules. Currently produced coats are made of other, lighter fabrics, decorated with functional zippers, in any chosen color: black, gray, navy blue, burgundy, khaki and many others.
